Dit dagboek helpt je als bijbellezer de stem van God op te merken, bijvoorbeeld wanneer je (samen) aan tafel uit de Bijbel leest.
Vroeger was bijbellezen aan tafel een soort ritueel. Je hoefde niet te kunnen begrijpen wat er gelezen werd, maar stil en respectvol leerde je van jongs af aan hoe het Woord van God geschiedde tussen de aardappelen en de yoghurt. In onze tijd is dat niet meer genoeg. De korte meditatieve teksten in dit dagboek helpen om het gelezen bijbelgedeelte te begrijpen en erover door te praten.
Aan de orde komen o.a. Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Job, Psalmen, Spreuken, Hooglied, de Evangeliën en de brieven van Paulus en Petrus.
Drs. Pieter L. de Jong (1947) is interim-predikant in Wijk bij Duurstede (PKN). Daarvoor diende hij de gemeenten van Laar (Dld.), Asperen, Nunspeet en ruim twintig jaar Rotterdam-Delfshaven. Van zijn hand verschenen eerder de dagboeken Doorgeven en Door vreemd gebied.
