Ben je tijdens je leven een volgeling van Hem geworden, dan heb je Hem al ontmoet en verlang je ernaar Hem opnieuw te zien. Wijs je Hem af, dan sta je er niet best voor, ook al heb je nog zo veel gepresteerd.
De Duitse predikant Wilhelm Busch wilde alle mensen wel overhalen om Jezus aan te nemen als de Leidsman van hun leven. Hij sprak met iedereen die maar wilde luisteren over dit ene onderwerp: Als je Jezus volgt, leef je in een vrijheid waarvan je het bestaan niet kende.
Als je Jezus niet volgt, heb je geen idee hoe donker je bestaan is en hoe gevaarlijk de weg is die je gaat.
